This position will be based in Cincinnati, OH and is eligible for relocation assistance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Perform broad, varied, and diverse engineering design tasks on assigned projects under general supervision of task lead or manager, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, technical specifications, construction quantity take-off, and support applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
Engage in the development of design through sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including site plans, utility plan/profiles, grading plans, cross sections, submittal reviews and response to information requests as required.
Assist project managers with developing and managing the project scope including fee estimates, budget tracking, staffing and schedule.
Assist the task manager in preparing conceptual, preliminary, and final design and participate in client project meetings.
Involved in the permit process, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, and governing entities.
Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
Coordinate technical activities and designs with team members in other disciplines and serve as a liaison between task manager and design team.
Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project. Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, and verify calculations and placements.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to creatively apply technical knowledge.
Attention to detail, positive attitude, desire to support team success, and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficient with ArcGIS or other Geographic Information Systems software
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis a plus (HEC-HMS & HEC-RAS)
Education and Experience
Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering.
Experience: With a minimum of five years of related work experience in civil engineering design, with an emphasis on water resource projects (dams, levees, flood control structures, and stormwater management)
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within one year of start.
