Your Opportunity

As a Payroll Administrator you have an exciting opportunity to join our team in our new office located in Chandler, Arizona. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the incumbent’s primary role is to perform payroll administration duties including input and processing. This experienced level payroll support position is geared towards a detail-oriented individual with demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision, performs payroll-related input, balancing, and reconciliation tasks and complies with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Inputs changes to employee direct deposits, taxes, etc. Investigates and resolves discrepancies.

  • Researches and resolves routine employee paycheck related questions. More complex issues are referred to more senior staff.

  • Audits payroll data entry reports.

  • Provides back-up for Certified Payroll as well as prevailing wage activities.

  • Helps manage the Manual Time Card inbox as well as entering and maintaining manual timecard corrections.

  • Prepares and distributes manual checks as needed and processes reversals.

  • Fulfills the daily requirement for data entry and filing.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience with automated payroll and timekeeping systems.

  • Demonstrates organization and accuracy in work.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects and repetitive tasks.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations with multi-jurisdiction payroll experience.

  • Knowledge of FLSA regulations.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Math skills and analysis capability.

  • Demonstrates behavior reflected in confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.

  • Proficient with the use of Oracle HRMS and Time & Labor as well as MS office applications, especially Excel.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma with minimum of one to three years payroll experience or an equivalent combination of post-secondary educational experience.

  • Payroll certification preferred.

This position is currently required to work from home, but the incumbent will primarily work in an office setting when applicable public health and Stantec policies permit.
