Our growing team is currently offering exciting opportunity for Junior Electrical Designer to work on various high voltage substation projects throughout North America. Your Key Reponsibilities

Working with the Substation team out of Burnaby office, the Junior Electrical Designer will be responsible for the design and delivery of high voltage substation projects in British Columbia as well as across North America.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct detailed design and drafting for switchyard layouts, elevations, grounding plan/details, cable and trench routing, Station Service AC/DC distribution, single line diagrams, etc.

  • Prepare technical portion of tendering package, detailed engineering scope, construction specification, inspection and test plan, etc.

  • Provide technical support for procurement, construction and commissioning.

  • Assist in preparing proposals, project plans and estimate.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines during project execution to solve technical issues.

  • Conduct site visit to verify project scope and provide construction site supports as required.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microstation.

  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills on multi-disciplinary teams, suppliers, sub-consultants and clients.

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.

  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license or equivalent with good standing.

  • Ability to handle and deliver multi-tasks.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power System) with minimum 2 years of proven direct detailed design experience related to high voltage substations for Utilities in North America. New graduate with relevant co-op experience will be considered.
