Stantec UK provides a wide range of Landscape Architecture services through our Infrastructure & Buildings (I&B Community Development) and Water divisions, with a UK focus and across all sectors. Our Landscape Architecture team is looking for an Associate Landscape Architect (Landscape Design) to be based in our Bristol/Warrington office, but we will consider other locations for the right candidate. This position will play an important part in supporting and realising that growth within our Landscape Architecture team in I&B Community Development, as part of our highly successful Environmental Services division.

You’ll play an important part in supporting our Director of Landscape Architecture in contributing to successful project delivery, including preparation of fee proposals and financial management.

You’ll deliver landscape design services for a range of projects throughout the UK, with a focus on our infrastructure, highways and commercial development schemes. You’ll be responsible for leading and managing the landscape design input to projects for clients and cultivating strong client and project team relationships. You’ll undertake site implementation visits and respond to contractor enquiries.

You will help to further grow the Environmental Services’ project portfolio, through delivering excellence and adding value to client’s projects. You will be encouraged to innovate and collaborate, working with clients and other disciplines to create sustainable value for our clients and communities. You’ll generate a proportion of your own and the team’s workload and use your technical knowledge and design experience to identify and realise new client opportunities.

You will also play an active part in supporting the technical and professional development of colleagues within the Landscape team, helping to influence and shape the team’s growth, and in turn developing your own career and expertise with a Registered Practice of the Landscape Institute.

About You:

As a Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer with proven and relevant UK project experience (and ideally Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)), you’ll share our desire to work with clients and stakeholders to create exceptional places which provide multiple benefits to people, communities and the environment.

You’ll have excellent conceptual and detailed landscape design skills, coupled with detailed technical knowledge of planting, construction details and site implementation processes and procedures. You’ll have relevant UK experience of preparing planting designs to clear planning conditions and for construction, NBS Landscape and DMRB Series 3000 Landscape specifications and Landscape Management strategies and plans, as well as experience of dealing with contractor’s tender queries and site implementation checks.

You’ll be passionate about landscape architecture and addressing climate change challenges through appropriate, practical and sustainable design responses in your work.You will also have the necessary skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups.
