Due to our increasingly expansive and diverse workload driven by growth we have an excellent opportunity for a Landscape Architect at Senior or Principal level to join us. This role is open to remote working or can be equally based in any of our Stantec UK offices. We are excited by the potential growth prospects and this position offers the right person a fantastic opportunity to progress professionally and play a key role in advising our clients and delivering high quality services for water companies and other market sector clients.
You will be supporting and providing landscape planning and design inputs to consultancy projects, undertaking field survey work across the UK, and you will undertake Landscape and Visual Impact assessments (LVIAs) and Landscape and Visual Appraisals (LVAs) and Environmental Statement (ES) chapters on a range of projects. A focus on water and wastewater schemes would be advantageous but experience from other sectors would also be valuable. You will have sound technical knowledge and the ability to prepare landscape planting designs, landscape maintenance and management plans, and specifications to accompany planning applications. You will be a member of our multi-disciplinary environmental services team, working closely with our environmental advisors, planners, ecologists, archaeologists and arboriculturalists, and liaising regularly with our internal and external clients.
Essentially, you will be a pro-active individual who can communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders and be comfortable in taking up business development opportunities. You will have knowledge of environmental planning issues beyond the discipline of landscape architecture, as well as current UK planning legislation and environmental impact assessment regulations.

You will preferably hold a Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or relevant subject with proven and relevant UK project experience and ideally be a Chartered member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), you’ll share our desire to work with clients and stakeholders to create exceptional places which provide multiple benefits to people, communities and the environment.
You will have proven ability to understand client needs, think creatively and provide pragmatic advice to meet client needs for sustainable solutions – within time and cost constraints. You will also have the necessary skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups.
You will also have the following: -
Experienced in soft landscape design with a sound knowledge in horticulture and landscape maintenance;
Detailed understanding of UK legislative and planning policy relating to landscape and beyond the discipline of landscape;
Accurate and diligent report writing and assessment work, in particular compiling inputs into pre app planning reports, LVAs, LVIAs and ES chapters in accordance with GLVIA 3
