We are currently seeking Senior Electrical Designers to join our Oil & Gas group in the Bakersfield office.

Your Duties

  • Work in conjunction with principal electrical designers, engineers and project managers to help develop all aspects of a project.

  • Interface with engineers and design leads from other disciplines, clients and other disciplines at project meetings and contractors during construction

  • Read and create LV and MV Single Line and Three Line Diagrams, including sizing of electrical equipment, conduit and cable

  • Read and create Motor Control Schematic diagrams

  • Create Hazardous Area Classification Plan and detail drawings using knowledge of API-RP-500 to

  • Knowledge to create Grounding Plan and detail drawings for the installation of new equipment

  • Create:

  • LV and MV Overhead Power Line Routing Plan and detail drawings

  • Conduit / Cable Tray Routing Plan drawings

  • Conduit / Cable Schedule drawings

  • Electrical Detail drawings

  • Electrical Equipment Location and Stub-up Plan drawings

  • PLC Panel Layout drawings

  • PLC I/O Schematic drawings

  • Control System Architecture drawings

  • Interface with clients and construction personnel on technical terms

  • Estimate job man-hours and schedule accurately

  • Track progress of job from schedule and cost standpoint

  • Communicate job requirements and design intent to others

  • Motivate team members and is an impartial decision maker

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A minimum of a high school diploma

  • 8-10 years’ experience in Electrical Design

  • Working experience in the Upstream Oil/Gas Industry

  • Experienced using AutoCAD

  • Familiar with CADWorx

  • Ability to work in Autocad 3D environment (preferred)

  • Ability to read and understand Vendor information

  • Ability to perform a complete check on all or any drawings in a drawing package

  • NEC, IEEE, NFPA, GO-95 experience is an asset

  • Solidworks experience is an asset

  • PDMS experience is an asset

  • Laser scan and Pointcloud familiarity is an asset
