As an Electrical Engineer in Training your role is to work as part of a multidiscipline design team on large projects of high complexity or on smaller single discipline projects. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Senior Engineer. You will be responsible for document production to execute projects and consulting services successfully and efficiently resulting in client satisfaction and on-time delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
Develop electrical plans and specifications for medium and low voltage distribution in an industrial setting.
Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers electrical equipment for projects under the supervision of a senior engineer
Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Participates in multi-discipline coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Performs calculations using company standard software, and proprietary manufacturer software such as ETAP.
Participates in constructability reviews.
Maintain a high level of quality on all documents produced
Works on multiple projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Requisite knowledge and application of National Electrical Code and applicable energy codes.
General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of electrical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Presentation and interview skills are preferred.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering and EIT. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience. Working toward licensure.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
