Stantec is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our fast-growing Prince George area team and be heavily involved in a variety of Civil / Municipal Infrastructure / Site Development / Services Projects within the transportation and water sectors of our business.

Your Duties

As a part of our team, you will work in conjunction with the Senior Engineer leading Stantec’s team in the following areas:

  • Assist the design team to solve diverse engineering challenges and prepare feasibility studies, design submissions, cost estimates, design reports, regulatory permits/ approvals, construction procurement documentation;

  • Field responsibilities will include contract administration, cost-controlling, quantity surveying, contract co-ordination, construction progress monitoring, preparation of reports;

  • Assessing and resolving site-related construction challenges in conjunction with contractors and Stantec’s Senior Engineer;

  • Leading work progress review meetings, including documenting the discussion and action items; and leading progress payment reviews and evaluations.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience related to design or construction of municipal/ transportation infrastructure;

  • Registered or ability for registration as a Professional Engineer in BC (APEGBC) is preferred;

  • Knowledge of codes, municipal/highway and roads design standards and design guidelines such as MMCD Design Guidelines;

  • Effective oral and written communication skills;

  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required;

  • Stormwater and water / sanitary modeling is an asset;

  • Design background in buildings technology is an asset;

  • Exhibit attention to detail and accuracy; and

  • Work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
