Stantec’s Canada Central Environmental Services Practice is looking for an intermediate level Acoustical Engineer to join our Acoustic, Noise and Vibration team. This opportunity is located in our Markham, ON office. Our Acoustical engineers provide specialized services to a wide variety of sectors including industry, government, architecture, transportation, and buildings. Our practitioners offer a full suite of services including permitting, monitoring, modeling, planning, policy studies, design, and control.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Conducting data collection, desktop based technical analyses, modeling, post processing, interpretation, and documentation of results
Conducting field measurements in support of technical analyses and modeling
Interfacing with internal and external clients and coordinating with project teams
Preparation of technical reports in accordance with regulatory requirements
Assist in the preparation and development of proposals
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Minimum of 3-5 years consulting experience in building acoustics, environmental noise and vibration.
A relevant post graduate degree may be considered in lieu of work experience.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for licensure in Ontario or equivalent.
Proven experience in acoustical theory, field measurement and monitoring of sound and vibration.
Familiarity with a variety of sound and vibration measurement instruments and modeling software (e.g., CADNA/A, TNM, Stamina, STAMSON, etc.).
Strong understanding of Ontario regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Experience in the selection and design of acoustic controls and mitigation measures.
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
Proven experience in successfully dealing with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a multi-disciplinary team.
Flexibility in scheduling required for travel related to site surveys.
A valid drivers license is required.
