Stantec’s Water sector and Environmental Services team have a need for two part-time Aquatic Ecologist/Divers to coordinate and manage environmental compliance

Your Duties

Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, water resources management, and commercial diving. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.


  • Conduct freshwater mussel surveys

  • Conduct fisheries surveys

  • Lead dive team

  • Maintain and repair diving equipment

  • Maintain and repair boats, trucks, and other field equipment

  • Coordinate and manage environmental permitting, assessment, and/or compliance work related to CWA, NPDES, USACE, USFWS, NEPA, and various state agency requirements as they pertain to a variety of project types including energy transmission and generation facilities, transportation, dam removal, and private development projects.

  • Perform analysis and provide recommendations for clients.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments

  • Proposal and report writing

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • ADCI Commercial Diver Supervisor Certification preferred

  • Current Physical, First Aid, Oxygen, CPR certification

  • Prepare and enforce dive plans, job hazard analysis, and emergency management plans for projects

  • Ability to inspect, maintain and repair boats, trucks other field equipment.

  • Ability to record and track dive and maintenance logs

  • Advanced boat operation skills preferred

  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel


  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others

  • Strong communication skills necessary to interact with management and clients
