We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the team in our Regina, Saskatchewan office . The successful candidate will be onboarded in Calgary, Alberta for an estimated 3-4 months ,and will then be based in Regina permanently.

Your Duties

  • Provide project coordination and technical input

  • Coordinate work within a multidiscipline, and multi office, team environment requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills

  • Provide support during construction phase of projects

  • Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with Stantec and client quality programs, and applicable codes and standards of the jurisdiction

  • Mentor project and junior personnel

  • Monitor project budget and schedule and initiate corrective actions, as required, to complete deliverables within deadlines

  • Coordinate key meetings or review points: scope, engineering, design, specifications, PFD/P&ID drawings, line list, tie-in list, equipment lists, controls, HAZOP, construction early works, construction kick-off and support, etc. for completeness

  • Review deliverables prepared by team prior passing to client

  • Monitor client satisfaction for work completed

  • Provide close support to Commissioning, Start Up and turnover activities

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Process, Mechanical, Civil, or relevant Engineering Degree, and P.Eng designation with APEGS or equivalent

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant project engineering experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience working with operating facilities, owner organizations, fabrication shops, and/or EPCM firms

  • Displays strong leadership qualities

  • Experience with both process and non-process building fundamentals

  • Experience with water treatment, power generation, road/rail infrastructure and terminals is considered an asset

  • Past experience supervising 5-10 other engineering staff/project teams is considered an asset

  • Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations

  • Team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff

  • Focused on providing quality services to the clients in a timely manner

  • High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

  • Ability to mentor and desire to encourage junior staff

  • Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to mobilize to site in Field Engineering capacity

  • Travel to Calgary, Alberta may be required, for a prolonged period in some instances
