Stantec seeks to hire a dynamic Interior Designer to join our Berkley, MI Architecture team. We are looking for a Senior Designer with a focus on shaping environments; someone who acts as a mediator to bring voice and amplify a position where interiors is more than just picking color- but rather evidences its interdisciplinary nature: a dialogue formed by architecture, art, graphics, fashion, film, engineering, history, literature, photography, philosophy, psychology, product design, and textiles; someone excited to explore the intangible in order to productively shape the tangible; a voice that can ensure the scale of the grand gesture to subtle nuances that people experience in interior space is crafted.

You are the ideal candidate if you can:
Develop designs with conceptual + critical thinking skills leading to a high level of interior design quality
Create sketches, diagrams, and other visual formats including 3D representations in order to express the design intent and communicate to project team, client, and building user groups
Support business development activities, including marketing proposals, interviews, conference attendance, etc.
Knowledge of space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building program
Evaluate and select interior systems, materials & finishes and palette
Implement sustainable design principles into interior materials & finishes and furniture
Ensure that interior design intent is maintained through documentation and construction
Perform FFE service tasks from design through Bid and handle coordination with specific client and project needs
Present the interior design to stakeholders (client groups and project teams)
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
NCIDQ certificate, preferred
An established resume and portfolio
A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial interior design practice
Interior design experience in education, workplace/commercial design preferred
LEED AP, preferred
Proficiency in use of Sketchup, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
